The Prop Shaft is in!

We will be releasing a video on this, but I wanted to tell all our subscribers that the prop shaft is in! There was more work than originally expected because the diver that was trying to do the work and lost the prop shaft, had “hacked up” where the shaft comes out the back of the boat. The shipyard had to re-glass the shaft opening after removing the old bearing. That took and extra day and around four hours additional, plus costs.

Anyway, shaft in, stuffing box rebuilt, mid-bearing replaced, new cutlass installed, and the boat is splashed!

About Captain Tom

Over 10 years sailing and over 3500 miles under our keel. Was an engineer (EE) for over 30 years, then after moving into management, decided that the corporate world was no longer for me.
