Sea of Cortez

Countdown to Sailing to the Sea of Cortez!

Our second home.

So, here we are sitting around the settee thinking about what is to come next. Thus far our plans to buy property in Arizona have come to fruition. Our plans to buy an R/V and move it to the property, and plans to have a storage shed built have come to fruition. Our plans to close our office and move aboard the sailboat have come to fruition. Everything has fallen into place with the exception of one thing. Our plans to move the boat to Puerto Penasco in Mexico.

We have wanted to get out of California for several years now. We have been working diligently towards this goal and area almost there. Once we move our sailboat to the Sea of Cortez as its permanent home and get her up on the hard, our plans will be complete. Then we can concentrate on sailing the Sea! Oh, and on to the South Pacific next year.

Now that we are towards the end of our plan and ready to enter into the final stage, it’s about time to set a departure date. A few more projects before we head out, but we will have enough time to handle them, and then some. So… We’ve set a date of March 1, 2020!!! As you can see from the countdown timer below we are serious about this. After accomplishing all taht we have over the last year, we feel really empowered and ready!

About Captain Tom

Over 10 years sailing and over 3500 miles under our keel. Was an engineer (EE) for over 30 years, then after moving into management, decided that the corporate world was no longer for me. Ran my wife's law office for 15 years and recently retired. Now we live aboard and sail the California coast, soon to leave for the Sea of Cortez.
